Rural Economy Study
This North West Development Agency funded
project looked at West Lancashire’s rural economy.
Information contained within the WL Rural
Economy Study proved extremely useful in securing Rural Development
Programme for England funding, lead by West Lancashire Borough
Council Officers this was secured in partnership with neighbouring
authorities South Ribble, Chorley and Preston and is more commonly
referred to as the Lancashire West LAG (Local Action Group).
Not all actions identified within the Rural
Economy Study are deliverable due to various constraints, including
the current funding climate, but the LAG programme is able to
deliver much needed support to our small rural businesses and
community organisations.

this project (external link) on these pages.
