Environment Thematic Group

The Environment Thematic Group has two main areas of work. The Natural Environment sub group works to protect and enhance our biodiversity and key natural habitats by developing and promoting conservation and habitat creation projects; it also promotes access to, and sustainable use of, the countryside.

The Built Environment sub group focuses on reducing the release of greenhouse gas emissions contributing to climate change and other pollutants. Projects to promote energy efficiency and sustainable energy, tackle fuel poverty and encourage sustainable living are at the forefront of this work.
